Faith Summersett Williams

Faith Summersett Williams, Ph.D., serves as the Director of Mentor and Mentee Relationships for Ladies of Virtue. Dr. Summersett Williams received her Bachelor of Science degree from Howard University and her master and doctoral degrees from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Currently, Dr. Summersett Williams is a clinical psychology fellow at Lurie Children's Hospital. As a clinical-scientist, trauma has been the unifying construct in her clinical work and research.

 

With over 10 years of experience working with racialized groups from historically oppressed communities, Dr. Summersett Williams' academic and clinical interests are focused on the development and translation of culturally appropriate, evidence-based and healing-focused mental health assessments and interventions to systems that serve minoritized children. Dr. Summersett Williams works with patients and families through the Lurie Children’s Substance Use & Prevention Program (SUPP), a multidisciplinary team providing assessment, early intervention, and outpatient services for adolescents and young adults who misuse substances. Dr. Summersett Williams is a member of the Lurie Children’s Trauma Treatment Service and provides trauma-specific treatment to adolescents with histories of trauma exposure. She is also a member of the diversity committee for the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Lurie Children’s Hospital.
