Lauketha Birden

Lauketha Birden serves as a mentor and Co-Director of the Gems Southside Campus. Her responsibilities include planning and implementing curriculum, along with providing volunteer opportunities for girls ages 11-14. Lauketha is an educator for Chicago Public Schools and has attained a B.A. in Early Childhood Education from Columbia College-Chicago and a M.S. in Special Education from Western Governors University. Lauketha was born and raised in Chicago and feels it is her obligation to support and provide meaningful experiences for at-risk youth. She has been a member of the L.O.V. team since 2015.
