Charla Travis

Charla Travis (affectionately known as “Coach T”) has been a mentor with Ladies of Virtue for 4 years.

​

Charla does not remember a time in her life where she did not work with kids/youth and in her community.  She has worked with youth in many aspects such as mentoring, coaching track and field, assistant activity director, sports director, art instructor, tutor, preschool assistant. She loves making kids laugh and having fun. But, they all know when she is ready to work.

​

Charla currently works, in the construction industry as In-house Project Manager/Sr. Estimator on Hospitality and Commercial buildings throughout the city of Chicago.

Charla is a graduate of Xavier University of Louisiana and The Illinois Institute of Art.

Charla has held positions with American Society of Interior Designers (ASID)- IL Chapter, and involved NEWH-The Hospitality Industry Network.

She is currently serving her community as 4th year mentor in Ladies of Virtue, 8th year Serve-a-thon Primary Leader with Chicago Cares, E.M.B.O.D.I. Committee member. She is also active with the local Xavier University Of Louisiana Alumni Chapter serving as Financial Secretary.

She is a mother to great son and loves spending time with her family, especially her son, nephews and nieces.
