Program Expectations

Ladies of Virtue participants should:

  • Maintain good attendance (can only miss up to 6 sessions)

  • Complete service learning project

  • Complete LOV success tracker with their mentor

Selection Process

Prior to joining Ladies of Virtue, potential participants must attend a mandatory information session to understand what is required.  We do not select girls based on academic achievements.  Decisions are based on willingness to participate in all LOV activities, commitment to maintain good attendance, positive attitude and the number of openings available for the upcoming year. We target girls who are first generation college students, qualify for free/reduced lunch, and lacks social capital to help them navigate their journey during and after high-school.

During our 9-month program year, LOV Participants:

  • Complete 35+ hours in leadership development training

  • Have opportunity to attend 3+ college tours (6th to 12th grade)

  • Exposed to 5+ different careers

  • Earn 12+ service learning hours (throughout the course of two months, participants research, plan and implement a project that is beneficial to their communities)

  • Receive LOV Butterfly journal and Binder

  • Partnered with mentor devoted to her success

  • Have access to LOV’s network of mentors

  • Placed to summer jobs/internships (ages 16+)
