Ivy S. Ellis
Program Facilitator

Ivy S. Ellis is a Program Facilitator with the Saturday Program at Ladies of Virtue. In this capacity, she provides the Gems instruction in leadership development, career exploration, confidence, and character development.
Additionally, assumed the role of Executive Director at Northwest Home Equity Assurance Program in September 2018, bringing a wealth of experience in public housing administration and community development. Prior to her tenure at NWHEAP, Ivy held various positions in the housing sector, including Central Region Business Development Director at HPN Select. Here, she demonstrated her adeptness at fostering regional growth by engaging stakeholders and collaborating with affordable housing agencies.
Ivy's commitment to improving housing accessibility and community well-being is evident throughout her career. Notably, as an Occupancy Manager, she successfully oversaw the conversion of project-based vouchers in a mixed-income senior building in Carol Stream, IL. Furthermore, her tenure as a Program Coordinator at the Cook County Housing Authority saw her specialize in high-impact initiatives, including the Homeownership and Family Self-Sufficiency programs.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Ivy actively engages in community service, dedicating her time to tutoring literacy in the Chicagoland area and serving on several non-profit boards. She takes great pride in her membership in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and as the President of the Women’s Board of the Chicago Urban League.
Ivy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Spelman College, Atlanta, GA, and earned her Master of Business Administration from Roosevelt University, Chicago, IL. She also holds a Managing Brokers License. Her academic background, coupled with her extensive experience, underscores her dedication to advancing equitable housing solutions and fostering thriving communities.
