The Year of Virtue

What is The Year of Virtue?

The Year of Virtue is a yearlong celebration of who we are, what we believe, and the impact we’re committed to growing together.

As we mark 15 years of Ladies of Virtue, this year represents a renewed commitment to helping Black girls build character, confidence, and a strong sense of who they are, supported by mentors, families, and community every step of the way.

For us, leadership isn’t just about achievements or accolades. It’s about building values like love, dignity, trustworthiness, and the other traits we name in our Law of Virtue — alongside academic and professional success.

Strong Leadership Starts with Strong Character

For 15 years, we’ve supported Black girls ages 9-24 as they navigate school, identity, relationships, and leadership. Along the way, we’ve learned something powerful:

  • Confidence grows when girls feel supported

  • Leadership is stronger when it’s rooted in values

  • Mentorship and community make all the difference

The Year of Virtue is our way of naming what we’ve always known – that who a girl is becoming matters just as much as what she achieves.

What’s Ahead in The Year of Virtue

Throughout 2026, you’ll see The Year of Virtue come to life through:

  • LOV Day celebrations in multiple cities

  • Exciting community partnerships and local activations

  • Programming that centers on character, confidence, and leadership

  • And more!

Be Part of The Year of Virtue

Whether you’re a parent, mentor, partner, supporter, or community member, there’s a place for you in The Year of Virtue.

Let’s celebrate how far we’ve come and build what’s next, together.

This isn’t just a theme.
It’s a statement about our future.
