Convened annually by MENTOR during National Mentoring Month, the National Mentoring Summit is a premier opportunity for mentoring practitioners, researchers, philanthropic investors, youth leaders, government and civic leaders, and Affiliates from across the country to unite under the shared goal of driving positive change for young people. This event allows attendees to learn from one another, form new connections, and explore best practices for strengthening and expanding the youth mentoring movement.
We are thrilled to share that Ladies of Virtue presented at our very first national conference on January 30, 2025 at the National Mentoring Summit in Washington, D.C.!
Our presentation, titled “Grow to Glow: Strength-Based Approaches to Building Authentic Relationships with Black Girls,” was an incredible success! The room was filled to capacity with over 70 attendees, including mentors, nonprofit leaders, and funders eager to learn about our transformative approach to mentoring Black girls.
Our Presentation Team:
Jamila Trimuel, Founder & CEO
Kenya Mercer, Senior Program Manager
Jayla, LOV Alum
Kourtney, LOV Alum
Alaysya, LOV Alum
The feedback we received was phenomenal! One attendee, a founder of a mentoring program, shared this inspiring reflection:
“The presentation was fantastic. I used the lesson around creating a safe space during a conversation with my daughter. She called me back later that day to say that she appreciated me for listening to her. Thank you, Ladies of Virtue!”
Additionally, post-workshop survey results revealed that 100% of attendees stated they were highly satisfied with the presentation, giving it a 5 out of 5 rating.
This moment marks a significant milestone for our organization, and we are so proud of all that we continue to accomplish. Our mission to empower Black girls through mentorship, leadership, and career development is reaching new heights—and we’re just getting started.
Next Stop… Presenting Worldwide!
We are excited about what the future holds and can’t wait to bring our message to an even broader audience. Thank you to everyone who supports our mission and believes in the power of mentoring Black girls to lead and thrive!
Stay tuned for more updates on our journey!
